Challenge Overview

The Coast to Coast Walk is one of Britain’s most famous long-distance walking routes. Originally devised by Alfred Wainwright, the route crosses Northern England from the Irish Sea to the North Sea, taking walkers through three of England’s most spectacular national parks.

Starting at St Bees on the Cumbrian coast and finishing at Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire, the route passes through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, offering a mixture of mountain scenery, rolling countryside, historic villages and challenging terrain.
